Utah Off Roading Trail Details, Ratings & Descriptions

  • When you think of off-roading in southern Utah, you probably think of Moab and its numerous challenging trails. However, off-roading doesn’t need to involve navigating grueling obstacles and trying to see if your rig can scale sheer cliff faces.

  • The beauty of being part of an off-roading community is that you get to enjoy organized off-roading events. Other than the hugely popular Easter Jeep Safari organized by Red Rock 4 Wheelers and held in Moab, other similar events bring off-roading enthusiasts together.

One such event is the Hump N’ Bump. This is an annual 4X4 off-roading event put on by the Vegas Valley 4 Wheelers. Those participating get to try out different trails in the Logandale trail area as well as the Valley of Fire recreation area. This happens in Nevada.

  • Many people associate off-roading with driving down rough terrain and trying to conquer some tough obstacles. Who can blame them? Pitting your custom-made rig against obstacles, rock crawling, and driving through rugged terrain is part of the fun of off-roading. But sometimes you need a break from the adrenaline rush and the crowds and that’s where the areas around St. George come in.

  • One of the reasons we love living in St. George is that the area is steeped in history. Being one of the places some of the early pioneers settled, this area has lots of historic buildings and ghost towns waiting to be explored. Going on such historic trail runs makes a nice change from rock crawling and trying to conquer obstacles in the usual popular trails in Southern Utah.

  • While Moab has some of the most popular off-roading trails with extreme obstacles, St. George has the most scenic ones. There are more than 200 off-roading trails around St. George and you don’t even have to go to Sand Hollow to find them. Some of these lead to Nevada so you get the bonus of exploring a new state too.

  • The trails in St. George are perfect for those who wish to go on long rides, exploring this fascinating corner of Southern Utah. Most of the trails lead into the desert landscape and are in remote places, meaning you don’t have to deal with crowds. In fact, in most instances, you may be the only one on the road, so it’s advisable to go with a group of friends. Alternatively, you can tag along with us as we go on one of our adventures.

  • The beauty of off-roading is that you’re not restricted to one type of environment. You can go explore wherever your sense of adventure takes you, as long as you and your rig can handle it.

  • There are many unexplored off-roading trails around St. George Utah. These trails provide the perfect weekend outing for those looking to explore Utah away from the crowds. All you need to do is round up some of your friends, choose a direction and head out. Alternatively, you could join Dixie 4 Wheel Drive on one of our southern Utah trail rides. That way, you’ll not only explore this part of the country but also get to interact with other avid off-roaders.

  • When it comes to off-roading, there are a lot more trails to check out and explore other than the famous ones in Moab. If you have a little time on your hands and wish to learn more about this area of the country, feel free to join us on one of our trail runs.
