Fall Moab Off-Roading Trip with the St. George Jeepers Club

Date of Event:
10/16/2017 - 12:30pm to 10/19/2017 - 6:00pm

Mark your calendars for Monday October 16, through Thursday October 19 - 4 nights. We are planning an awesome Jeep Trip to Moab, Utah. As always, we will have 2 trail rides per day: 1. moderate, 2. difficult.

For Hotel Reservations phone Quality Inn, (formerly Sleep Inn), on the South end of town:  (435) 259-4655. Make sure to tell them you are part of the St. George Jeep Group. Only then will you get a room for $125.00/night. I have reserved 24 rooms on the first floor, and I think there are 14 remaining. If these rooms fill up, you can book on the second floor, depending on hotel space. There is no elevator. Each room has a small refrigerator, and breakfast is included. Lunch sandwiches can be purchased each morning at the Chevron Station Deli down the road on the same side of the street. For those wanting to stay in RV Parks, please look on line to make reservations.

Planned Schedule:

Monday, October 16, lunch in Green River at Ray's Tavern, 12:30 pm.
2:00 pm, check into Quality Inn.
3:00 pm, trail ride, sections of Finns and Things.
6:30 pm, Dinner at Moab Diner or wherever you choose.

Tuesday, October 17:
8:15 am, be ready with a full tank of gas and lunch to trail ride (1) Potash Road, up Shafer Trail and down Long Canyon Trail, rated 3, or (2) Poison Spider Trail, rated 6, (if Kim Pollock can stay a few days in Moab, I'm hoping he will lead).
6:00 pm, Dinner at The Blue Pig or wherever you choose.

Wednesday, October 18:
8:15 am, be ready with a full tank of gas and lunch to trail ride (1) 7 Mile Rim including Uranium Arch, rated 3, or (2) Jax Trax, rated 5, led by Gil Meacham.
6:30 pm, Dinner at Jay's Pasta or wherever you choose.

Thursday, October 19:
8:15 am, be ready with a full tank of gas and lunch to trail ride (1) Hidden Canyon Overlook, rated 3, or (2) Steel Bender, rated 6, led by Gil Meacham.
6:00 pm, Dinner at the Brewery or wherever you choose.

Friday, October 20:
Check out at your leisure, and head back to St. George on your own or with others who want to travel with you. It is very pretty to go by way of Mexican Hat, Monument Valley and Glen Canyon Dam. Also, it is interesting to go by way of Natural Bridges, to Hanksville, Capital Reef, Torrey and home. Both of these routes are considerably longer than taking I-70 to I-15.
